School Board Notes

Dr. Herbert Peluzzo, supervisor of educational technology of East Brunswick Public Schools, was the latest guest on Education Matters, a talk show hosted by Ray Pinney, chief membership officer at the New Jersey School Boards Association.

At its November meeting, the New Jersey State Board of Education heard updates and acted on a number of items.

LEAP provides financial assistance to local government entities – including school districts – to identify, study and implement shared services initiatives.

The New Jersey Department of Education announced in a news release the availability of the 2024 Taxpayers’ Guide to Education Spending, a tool to help New Jersey residents learn more about the spending practices of their local school district and districts across the state.

Students are encouraged to submit entries either on their own or through their schools by Jan. 8, 2025, for the 2025 Garden State Film Festival.

Under the law, newly elected board members who do not undergo a criminal history background investigation within the 30-day period could be declared ineligible to serve in office until it is submitted.

Students are invited to write an essay about a new nuclear-powered mission to any moon in the solar system they choose. Submissions are due Jan. 31, 2025.

The successful candidate will manage the schedule and communications of the executive director/CEO and ensure the efficient operation of the executive office.

The successful candidate will provide coordination and support to enhance the productivity and effectiveness of the daily operations for the human resources department, finance department and the deputy director.

This position is responsible for overseeing HR management and department operations to adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
