The New Jersey School Boards Association will host its inaugural AI Conference: Preparing for Today and Tomorrow on Friday, June 6, at the Conference Center at Mercer County College from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Whether you are an avid user of artificial intelligence or a novice, it is important to appreciate the potential of generative AI in the classroom – as well as areas of concern.

This conference will explore how AI can be used in the classroom to improve student learning, how administrators are using it to perform their duties, what board members should know about AI, the legal issues surrounding it, and more.

The AI Conference will also feature a special track designed for superintendents to learn more about how AI can benefit their districts. Hear from industry experts and education leaders about intriguing and timely topics such as the ones below:

Keynote Session: ‘From Fear to Fascination: The Magic of Embracing AI’

Explore AI’s transformative role in education and learn how it can address myths while personalizing the future. See how AI can help students and staff in learning, while boosting creativity, streamlining administration, and empowering educators. Take-away actionable insights and strategies include responsible AI integration, addressing equity, ethics, and professional development, and learning to create inclusive environments to address the complexities of the future.

The keynote session will be presented by Dr. Christopher Nagy, former superintendent of the Burlington County Institute of Technology and Burlington County Special Services School Districts. He is also co-founder and president, MagicEDX.ai.

Registration Details

This conference offers three Board Member Academy credits and has a member rate of $119. Registration of school board members, administrators, and district staff that have been included on the NJSBA census may be done online, but only by the school business administrator who must attach a scanned copy of the purchase order with the registration.
