TRENTON, Jan. 5, 2026 – The New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA) announced a strategic partnership with the New Jersey Education and Technology Association (NJETA) to provide critical, cohesive, and fiscally responsible technology support to school leaders throughout the state.

NJSBA is a federation of local boards of education, advocating for public education and providing training, services, and leadership support to New Jersey’s local school boards and their districts. NJETA is a professional membership organization dedicated to supporting the wide range of school technology professionals in New Jersey, fostering excellence in education and technology. Both organizations recognize the critical role of technology in education and the importance of providing comprehensive, informed, and cohesive support to New Jersey’s public-school districts. The partnership reflects a mutual desire to leverage each other’s respective strengths to achieve shared goals.

Recognizing that technology is no longer ancillary but the essential backbone of modern education, this alliance will fuse the governance expertise of NJSBA with the deep technical knowledge of NJETA members. The goal is to deliver actionable guidance, training, and resources that translate directly into enhanced student achievement and operational efficiency.

“This partnership with NJETA will help ensure that New Jersey’s boards of education have access to resources and training to make fiscally responsible technology decisions to help bolster student achievement. Our students deserve a world-class, future-proof education, and this partnership is a critical step to achieving that vision,” said Dr. Timothy J. Purnell, NJSBA executive director/CEO.

“For our members—dedicated school technology professionals—this partnership is transformative. While NJETA members possess deep technical knowledge and ground-level expertise, NJSBA offers a structure and reach extending into every school district and boardroom in the state. This means best practices and smart strategies will be shared directly with key decision-makers – New Jersey’s public school board members,” said Fil Santiago, NJETA president.
