South Bergen Jointure Commission Honored with School Leader Award

The South Bergen Jointure Commission was honored Nov. 30 at the Bergen County School Boards Association at Henry P. Becton Regional High School for being a recognized program in the 2022-2023 School Leader awards for its “No Barriers: Empowering Special Education Students to Live Full and Independent Lives” program. The program has helped students mitigate their disabilities, which has resulted in developing learning strategies that challenge them to live full and independent lives. From left to right are Dr. Karen Cortellino, vice president for legislation and resolutions at the New Jersey School Boards Association; Dr. Michael D. Kuchar, superintendent of the South Bergen Jointure Commission; Bruce Young, NJSBA’s vice president of county activities; James Albro, superintendent of the Wallington School District and vice president of the South Bergen Jointure Commission; Michael Jacobs, president of the Bergen County School Boards Association; Giovanni Giancaspro, superintendent of the East Rutherford School District and president of the South Bergen Jointure Commission; and Ray Pinney, NJSBA’s director of county activities and member engagement.
