NJSBA strives to keep its membership informed on timely education topics in the most effective way possible.
That’s why, in recent years, as podcasts have taken the digital world by storm, NJSBA has added video podcasts to its ways of communicating with members.
With more than 584 million listeners worldwide, the podcast industry provides creative ways for podcasters and audiences to connect about specific topics. There are currently over 6.5 million podcasts in the world.
Audio-only podcasts first emerged in the mid-2000s and remained a small, niche market for years. But now, video podcasting, which was once just a niche experiment, is today a dominant podcast trend. And NJSBA is at the forefront, leading the way with videos that deliver important education content in an easy-to-understand format.
For example, NJSBA’s “Education Matters” video podcast is a live streaming video program that is available at no charge on You Tube, Instagram and Facebook each month, providing content on important education topics. And one of the unique features of the program is that it is interactive, meaning that viewers can chat live with guests on whichever social media platform they use to access the show.
This fact alone signals a dramatic shift in how audiences consume content. What was once primarily an audio medium is now evolving into a dynamic mix of visual and audio storytelling.
NJSBA’S very own You Tube channel in general has fascinating program content that is professionally produced and deals specifically with education issues and stories that are compelling. Members can find the channel at https://www.youtube.com/@njsba
