The New Jersey School Boards Association’s annual Workshop is the largest training conference for public school officials in New Jersey. This year’s conference will take place from Monday, Oct. 20 through Thursday, Oct. 23 at the Atlantic City Convention Center.

The Workshop 2025 “call for proposals” is now open. This is your opportunity to present a training session to thousands of education professionals from across the state. Set yourself apart and give Workshop participants a reason to attend your program by proposing a compelling session topic.

Follow these tips to make your proposal stand out:

  • Share boldly: Do not just present, share innovative ideas and information that may push the boundaries of current practice and knowledge.
  • Inspire: Empower fellow educational leaders to explore new strategies and ideas for solving challenges.
  • Engage: Encourage active participation and model best practices.
  • Co-present: Choose co-presenters from diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives.
  • Focus on all students: Recognize the importance of expanding opportunities and access to meet the needs of all learners.

There are four different types of sessions available. Choose one that makes the most sense for your proposed session.

  • Group Sessions are 60 minutes. Sessions will be set in theater style to their maximum seating capacity (100 -250). Design your program to allow for Q&A and provide opportunities for engagement as appropriate for a lecture style presentation.
  • Action Labs are 90 minutes. Rooms are set with round tables to facilitate discussion and collaboration. The rooms are limited to 48-60 attendees. To be considered, the session must include group activities that support learning to engage participants.
  • Ed Talks are 18-20 minutes. Like the other famous talks, Ed Talks are an opportunity for individual engaging speakers to share inspiring 20-minute talks to present ideas to support student success. To be considered, you must submit a recent video of yourself presenting with your application.
  • Panels are 60 minutes. Limited to a designated moderator and three panelists. Rooms will be set up theater style. Please allow time for Q&A.

Submission Deadline The deadline to submit a program proposal is Friday, April 11, 2025, by 5 p.m. Acceptance emails will be sent out mid-summer. All program submissions will be reviewed, however, submissions from New Jersey school districts are preferred.

Submit your Workshop 2025 program proposal form today. For questions, please contact wsprograms@njsba.org.
