Trenton, 1/29/25 – The New Jersey School Boards Association is pleased to announce the opportunity for counties, municipalities and other local contracting units to voluntarily participate in the Alliance for Competitive Energy Services program and NJSBA’s Cooperative Pricing System.

ACES, the largest energy aggregation program in New Jersey, has already saved school districts more than $250 million on energy bills over the last 15 years. ACES provides access to energy that is both cleaner and less expensive and was the first program of its kind in the state of New Jersey.

ACES membership comes with a plethora of benefits that can help municipalities save on energy costs. ACES is free to join and provides local contracting units an opportunity to save on rising electricity and heating costs – as well as the chance to take advantage of other cost-saving opportunities.

In addition, membership in ACES unlocks the purchasing power of NJSBA’s Cooperative Pricing System, and sustainability consulting through ACESplus.

It is easy to join. A municipality only needs to pass a resolution and sign the agreement. Once a member, purchasing can begin at any time using procurement #E-8801-NJSBA ACES-CPS.

ACES and the NJSBA Cooperative Pricing System offer many benefits:

  • Streamlined processes: Eliminate the hassles of bid and contract activities through this system.
  • Cost savings: Leverage increased purchasing power to reduce costs in the competitive electricity marketplace.
  • Expert guidance: Access experts who provide vital information and support to help municipalities make the best energy decisions.
  • Savings on cybersecurity solutions: Access to a portfolio of cost-effective cybersecurity solutions for critical networks and digital information.
  • Technology savings: Cost savings on software, hardware, video conferencing, licensing, technology solutions and more.
