Governor Phil Murphy has signed several education related bills into law, including an expansion to early childhood education.
When parents sought to have their children excused from instruction involving LGBTQ+ books, the school board initially compromised with the parents by notifying them when the storybooks would be taught. However, less than a year later, the board rescinded the parental opt-out policy.
Starting on July 15, School Board Notes will be published every other week.
