The 2025–2026 County School Boards Association (SBA) meetings are just around the corner. These meetings provide board members across New Jersey with a unique forum for learning, networking, and sharing ideas.
This fall, the County School Boards Association is excited to welcome Barry Walker as the new NJSBA vice president for county activities. “It’s an honor to support our County School Board leaders as we work together to advance student achievement throughout New Jersey. Together, through shared learning and collaboration, we can ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed,” said Walker.

Every county in New Jersey has a county school board association that hosts a series of meetings in its county. These meetings bring together board members from across the county and state for meaningful dialogue on timely educational issues. Each session features carefully selected topics aimed at equipping school leaders with practical insights and tools to make informed decisions for their school communities.
As part of NJSBA membership benefits and through its partnership with ELFNJ, members may attend County SBA meetings at no additional charge and are offered in both in-person and virtual formats to accommodate busy schedules. Members are welcome to attend meetings in any county, not just their own. In-person meetings include a complimentary dinner.
County meetings are a unique opportunity for first-term members to experienced leaders to have their voices heard. It is a time for members to express their support and concerns about Association programs and services and make suggestions for improvements and new initiatives.
These meetings also provide members with up to date information on important current and upcoming education developments and the opportunity for members to strengthen their professional network increasing their collective influence to advocate for New Jersey public schools.
County association leadership also engage members by visiting local school board meetings to discuss the value of attending county meetings for the latest advances in NJSBA membership services, programs, advocacy efforts and networking opportunities.
