The Morris County School Boards Association (MCSBA) hosted the Third Annual Nancy Helbourg Memorial Recognition Ceremony on May 7 at Mount Olive High School in Flanders.
The dinner was catered by Maschio’s Food Services and took place in the high school lobby, which was beautifully designed, supplied and decorated by Jessica Parks, a member of the Netcong Board of Education. The Morris County SBA would like to extend a special thank you to the Mount Olive School District for their exceptional attention to detail and outstanding hospitality, particularly to Superintendent of Schools Dr. Sumit Bangia and High School Principal Kevin Stansberry.
MCSBA President Bernadette Dalesandro, a member of the Netcong Board of Education, welcomed attendees both in person and virtually to celebrate the 2024-2025 school year during MCSBA’s final meeting of the year. Students from Mount Olive High School entertained guests during dinner, leading the Pledge of Allegiance and singing the national anthem.
Karen Cortellino, M.D., of the New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA), was present to extend warm greetings on behalf of the NJSBA and expressed gratitude to Morris County members as she concluded her term as NJSBA president just three days later.

Assemblywoman Aura K. Dunn attended the event to greet guests and presented proclamations from the New Jersey state Assembly to the student award winners. Morris County Sheriff James M. Gannon also joined the ceremony to present the Annual 8th Grade Unsung Hero Recognition to four outstanding eighth-grade students.
