On March 11, 2026, the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) launched its statewide Homeless Case Management System (HCMS). Piloted by the state’s regional McKinney-Vento grantees and other select LEAs since October 2024, the HCMS is designed to assist LEAs in gathering, reporting, and analyzing relevant data and using that data to tailor interventions to the unique needs of students experiencing homelessness.
All LEAs will have access to HCMS beginning March 26, 2026. For additional information, including training opportunities and other logistics, please see the NJDOE’s Education for Homeless Children and Youth Statewide Case Management System broadcast memo.
