The spring issue of School Leader is now available online and will be hitting the mailboxes of board members and other stakeholders in the next couple of weeks.
The theme of the issue is school security and student wellness, with the cover story featuring an article written by two administrators with the Robbinsville Board of Education in Mercer County: John Legere, information technology director; and Nick Mackres, school business administrator.

The two share lessons learned from a cyber incident their district battled in November 2023, building on a session they delivered at Workshop 2024.
Other features highlight:
- How the Burlington County Institute of Technology and Livingston Public Schools are promoting student wellness with some innovative efforts revolving around the incorporation of Zen Dens and Mental Health First Aid.
- How school districts are tackling the use of artificial intelligence by students and what constitutes cheating.
- How the typical profile of a female school principal has changed after the past 27 years.
The issue also includes numerous other articles, including a detailed executive summary on a report produced by the Committee on Educational Opportunities for the Career-Focused Learner, which is titled “New Dimensions in Career and Technical Education.” Read the full report here.
