TRENTON, July 24, 2025 — The Educational Leadership Foundation of New Jersey (ELFNJ) is proud to announce that it has received a contribution from Meritain Health®, an Aetna company. The grant will support ELFNJ in its mission to advance public education governance through training and research.
ELFNJ, a 501(c)(3) organization formed in 2008, assists the New Jersey School Boards Association by securing resources to support the professional development of school board members.
“We thank Meritain Health for its support of the Foundation’s innovative programs designed to equip boards of education and aspiring education leaders with the training and skills necessary to perform their roles effectively,” said ELFNJ Executive Director David Hespe. “The education of our youth is of extreme importance to Meritain Health, and leadership development of our school board members is vital to ensuring all students in New Jersey reach their fullest potential.”
According to Meritain Health, their commitment to strengthening community connections is deeply rooted in their values. For decades, they’ve partnered with school districts, colleges and educational institutions to champion better health and offer creative, tailored benefits that support employees and their families.
This same philosophy applies to its support for the health and safety of students through effective governance of school boards—who benefit from professional development funded by ELFNJ, in partnership with the New Jersey School Boards Association.
