
On Nov. 18, 2025, the NJ Journalism Impact Awards will take place. Held at the Park Avenue Club in Florham Park, the event recognizes impactful reporting and civic leadership that strengthen New Jersey’s communities and democracy. During the ceremony, the Corporation for New Jersey Local Media (CNJLM) will recognize several New Jersey student journalists for their journalistic efforts, honoring them with the Impact in Journalism Award.
The awards recognize outstanding high school and college reporters whose work has made a difference in their communities.
This year, awards will be presented to the following recipients:
High School Impact Award
The Jersey Bee (University High School, Newark, NJ)
The student journalists will be honored for their work on “Newark students’ guide to voting in local school board elections.”. Their project empowered young voters with clear, accessible information about civic participation at the local level.
College/University Impact Awards
South Jersey Climate News (Rowan University and Atlantic Cape Community College)
A collaboration between Rowan University and Atlantic Cape Community College, the South Jersey Climate News team is being honored for thoughtful coverage of environmental challenges and resilience in South Jersey.
The Setonian (Seton Hall University)
The team will be honored for a series of investigative stories on sexual abuse and accountability within the university community.
