On Wednesday, March 18, the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) published a broadcast memo announcing the designation of five local educational agencies as Model Programs for Dual Language Immersion and World Languages. The districts are designated as Model Programs for the 2025-2028 school years and serve as regional resource centers across the state, where educators can witness exemplary instruction and programmatic practices in dual language immersion and world languages education.

Dual Language Immersion Model Program

  • Hoboken Dual Language Charter School: Grades K-8, Spanish 90:10 to 50:50, One-Way Immersion
  • North Plainfield School District: Grades K-4, Spanish 50:50, Two-Way and One-Way Immersion
  • West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District: Grades K-5 Spanish 50:50, Two-Way Immersion; and Grades K-5 Chinese 50:50, Two-Way Immersion

World Language Model Program

  • Egg Harbor Township School District: Grades K-12, Hispanohablantes – Spanish Heritage Language Program
  • Summit Public School District: Grades K-5, World Languages
  • West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District: Grades 2-12, World Languages
