On Oct. 20, 2025, the State Board of Education released a public notice regarding the presentation of draft revisions to various areas of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS).
At the Nov. 5, 2025 meeting of the State Board, the commissioner will present draft revisions in two subject areas:
- Career Readiness, Life Literacies and Key Skills
- Science
At the Dec. 3, 2025 meeting of the State Board, the commissioner will present draft revisions in four subject areas:
- Computer Science and Design Thinking
- World Languages
- Visual and Performing Arts
- New Jersey Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards
Following these meeting dates, the draft revisions will be available for review on the State Board’s website.
The State Board will hold three regional public hearings to receive comments on the above-mentioned draft revised Standards. Members of the public are invited to participate in the hearings by registering to speak by calling the Office of the State Board of Education at 609-376-9071 or through the following website, https://www.nj.gov/education/sboe/meetings/testimony/index.shtml.
Registration to testify on the draft revisions to the NJSLS at the public hearings will open on Dec. 16, 2025, and close at noon on Jan. 8, 2026.
