For individuals recently elected or appointed to serve on their local board of education, or newly appointed to a charter school board of trustees, NJSBA’s Legal Department has released a new legal resource, “Post Election Information for New Board Members and Charter School Trustees.” This new legal resource is designed to provide those newly elected or appointed with answers to questions that are most often asked of NJSBA staff. Members can access this new legal resource from the Topical School Law Resources section of NJSBA’s website, under the heading “Election and Budget Information.”
To ensure accuracy, NJSBA’s Legal Department will issue an updated edition of “Post Election Information for New Board Members and Charter School Trustees” on an annual basis.
For further information about these matters, please contact the NJSBA Legal Department at (609) 278-5279, or your board attorney for specific legal advice.
