Bruce Young, vice president for county activities at the New Jersey School Boards Association and a member of the Carlstadt-East Rutherford Regional Board of Education, received the Janet Lobsenz award at the Bergen County School Boards Association’s June 2 meeting. To receive the award, a Bergen County board member must show a commitment to his or her professional development, as well as to other board members in the county. The person also needs to demonstrate commitment to school governance, not only on a local level, but also at the county and state levels. Young has a long history of service to New Jersey schools and was named the NJSBA’s Board Member of the Year for 2017-2018.
