The Office of the Secretary for Higher Education is inviting high school administrators across the state to identify high-achieving high school juniors to participate in a summer academic and STEM-focused residential program.
The Governor’s School of New Jersey is a tuition-free, summer, residential program for high-achieving high school juniors interested in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) subjects. There will be two programs operating in 2026. The Governor’s School of Engineering and Technology, hosted at Rutgers University–New Brunswick from July 6, 2026, to July 31, 2026; and the Governor’s School in the Sciences, hosted at Drew University from July 12, 2026, to Aug. 1, 2026. The programs are open to students from diverse economic backgrounds who are New Jersey residents and who have completed their junior year in any public or private high school or are home-schooled.
Applications are due by 11:59 pm on Jan. 8, 2026.
